Eisriesenwelt - ice cave

The Eisriesenwelt (the world's largest ice cave) in Werfen was discoverd by Anton von Posselt-Czorich in the 19th century and is one of the most impressive natural wonders in Salzburg. Nowadays, the first hundred meters of elevation can be skipped comfortably via cable car, before one enters the gigantic cave. Tip: Online tickets save both money and the queue at the cash desk.

The Dachstein - a place of longing not only for alpinists - is not only a mountain, but a true austrian alpine "personality" with a height of 2.995 m. Burg Mauterndorf - castle

Centuries ago, the sundial above the Mauterndorf castle gate greeted merchants, scoundrels and travelers on their way through the Lungau region. The portal where passing traders once heard the words: “Open your bag and pay the toll” (Maut = toll, hence the name Mauterndorf) is now the gate leading visitors right back to the Middle Ages.

Gamskogel - Altenmarkt Zauchensee

At Gamskogelhütte, the adventure playground "Meistercup der Alpentiere" and a short hike to Seekarsee (outdoor-stroller-friendly). "Zauchi's Bummelzug" (mini tractor train) is also very popular during summer break. Tip: A hike to Roßkopf peak is a cool hike for teenagers.

In our neighbour town Filzmoos, mascot Bärtl is waiting with his family trail full of fun stations. Swings, balance and climbing stations offer different obstacles.
