at monte popolo
Ready for a time travel including a lot of nostalgia? For the second time we invite you to our Retro-Skiday at monte popolo to revive the 70ies and 80ies. Dresscode: neon-coloured overalls, Norwegian sweaters and everything you can find in your attic. After the race, enjoy vintage sounds and beats by DJ Soultekk and SaxoBen.
First things first
When? March 9th, from 10 a.m.
Where? Skiing area monte Popolo / Slope Popolo 2a
(next to practise lift Topolino 2)
Sign up: until March 8thonline (until 3 p.m.) or “retro-like” at the tourism office

Entry fee: € 8,- per person (visitors free). What you get in return:
- single day ski pass for € 15,- instead of € 51,50 (promo-code per e-mail)
- Retro-Ski-Zip
- discount-voucher at starting number distribution
Last-Chance-Entry: If there are any entries left, you can sign up at the event until 10 a.m. at the starting number distribution at Reitlehenalm for € 10,- (cash only).
Program
- From 9.30 a.m.: distribution start numbers (behind Reitlehenalm)
- 11 a.m.: race start
- 1 – 6 p.m.: LIVE DJ & Saxophone sounds at Reitlehenalm terrace
- 2 p.m.: winner’s ceremony
- From 7 p.m.: Aftershow Retro Party at Kohlers Pub
The Jury rates the following criteria:
- Come in your Retro-Outfit
A Retro-Outfit fitting the style of the 70ies and 80ies is the basic requirement for starting at the race. - Bring your vintage ski equipment
In addition to your outfit, the Jury will rate your equipment (Ski, Monoboard, etc.). - Don’t forget your retro accessories
If you also have any retro accessories (beanies, glasses, gloves, etc.) you will get some extra points. - Use those 15 seconds of performance time
After the finish line, you will have 15 seconds of vintage sounds to impress the Jury even more with your finish-performance. Deliver your best spontaneous disco-dance-moves or something well practiced or convince us of your vintage spirit however you want. Be creative, crazy and unique so that the audience and the Jury will crown you Retro-Queen or Retro-King.
How will the winner be chosen?
- The starters will receive points in the mentioned criteria and the Jury will decide on the three most creative and “retro-minded” starters. There are three prizes for the best outfits/performances. The Retro-Queen or Retro-King will be awarded the main prize (Ski amadé ALL-IN Card White for season 2024/25) and the Eben Retro-Style-Crown as challenge cup. The winner’s name will be engraved into the crown.
- There is only one run. It’s not about who is fastest, but about fun, entertainment, skill, performance and outfits.
- Special Prize: Whoever comes closest to Monti’s time will be awarded a special prize. It’s about fun, not being fastest.
Further information:
- Participation: born 2014 or older
- Starting order: The starting order will primarily be set on your sign-up entry. The final order will be chosen by Skiclub Eben.
- Track: The track runs parallel to practise lift Topolino 2, the start is located a few meters atop the lift exit, the finish is located between the lift starts of Topolino 2 and Popolo 2.
- Catering: In the finish area, Skiclub Eben will run a bar with beverages.
- Track inspection: The track can be inspected from 10 a.m. First starter is mascot Monti at 11 a.m.
- Winner’s ceremony: The winner’s ceremony takes place at 2 p.m. at Reitlehenalm terrace.

- Slope hours: Please follow the slope hours of the skiing area. Slopes are closed from 5 p.m. to 8.30 a.m. Shuttle-Service by taxi possible from Reitlehenalm parking.
